3-13-25   THOUGHTS

Our text today reminds us that we are called to be LOVERS, above all!  1Cor 13:3   “And if I give all my possessions to feed [the poor,] and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.”  We must see our existence through the eyeglasses of LOVE!  Our response to life must naturally seek the BEST FOR OTHERS!   Col 3:14 “Beyond all these things [put on] love, which is the perfect bond of unity.”  1Tim 1:5  “But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.”

Rom 13:7-10  ESV    Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.  8  Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9  For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and any other commandment, are summed up in this word:
"You shall love your neighbor as yourself."  10  Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
1John 4:21   And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves  God should love his brother also.
1John 4:18a    There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear,

My Prayer:
Father, give us hearts that reflect Your love.  Thank You for "being love", O  God of our salvation.  Help us to live our lives for the good of others.  Especially, may we see the souls of all who need Jesus, and help us love them!  We pray that the world will see our Lord by our living.  O God... lift us up in these things.  We lift You up with praise and thanksgiving.
In the name of our Lord,    Amen.
